El Kontessaالكونتيسة
El Kontessa, is the stage name of Cairo-based producer, DJ, and multidisciplinary artist Fajr Soliman, her city comes alive. In her voice, Cairo’s soundscapes are deconstructed, combined withstrokes of different music genres, and turned into multilayered sonic explorations. Since debuting in 2018, she has been a staple of Egypt’s alternative music scene, thanks to features on label irish’s ‘did you mean: irish’ compilations and international outlets such as Vice, Boiler Room, and NTS Radio. El Kontessa has also crossed over, performance-wise, outside of Egyptian borders, as she has played esteemed venues and festivals across Africa and Europe.
الكونتيسا هو الاسم الفني للمنتجة والـDJ والفنانة المتعددة التخصصات فجر سليمان المقيمة في القاهرة، حيث تنبض مدينتها بالحياة في أعمالها. في صوتها تتفكك المشاهد الصوتية للقاهرة لتُعاد صياغتها وتمتزج بلمسات من أنماط موسيقية مختلفة، لتتحوّل إلى استكشافات صوتية متعددة الطبقات. منذ بدايتها عام 2018، أصبحت الكونتيسا إحدى ركائز المشهد الموسيقي البديل في مصر، من خلال مشاركاتها في تجميعات شركة irish بعنوان did you mean: irish، وظهورها في منصات دولية مثل Vice وBoiler Room وNTS Radio. كما تخطّت الكونتيسا حدود مصر بأدائها، حيث شاركت في حفلات ومهرجانات مرموقة في إفريقيا وأوروبا.
